I was back to work today, and its been a grey depressing sort of day. The mist hung over the coast line, blurring the edges, and the sea was as calm as a mill pond. By late afternoon, the mist rolled like a grey blanket covering the houses, till just the church spires and tops of the trees showed, I was glad to head home....
In the fragrant hedges` hollow brambled gloom,
Pure primroses paling into perfect bloom.
Laurence Binyon.

Close your eyes
And do not peek
And I`ll rub Spring
Across your cheek -
Smooth as satin,
Soft and sleek,
Close your eyes
And do not peek.
Aileen Fisher.

She wore her yellow sun-bonnet,
She wore her greenest gown;
She turned to the South wind
And curtsied up and down
She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour;
"Winter is dead"
AA Milne
