I was up early this morning, just after six, and I hadnt really decided what to do with my day, but after I went out to feed the birds, and having looked round the garden, I decided to give it a bit of a clear up, I`ve been meaning to do it for ages, but havent found the time or inclination.
My garden is mostly pots, so I cleared out all the dead plants, cut back the grasses, ready for the new growth, and swept the paths. I also set my Honesty (Lunaria) seeds, I collected these
from some `pennies` I found in the countryside last Autumn. I love this old fashioned plant
although, the flower isnt particularly outstanding, I do love the seed heads, either just in a vase, or with a dab of glue and a sprinkle of glitter at christmas time...
I also had several hundred Foxglove seeds, that my Mother had sent me from her foxgloves, which grow very prettily down the side of her bungalow, so I flung them with gay abandon in the front garden, working on the theory that if they were on the Moor thats how they would sow themselves!.....fingers crossed.
I potted up some polyanthas, that I`d bought last week, and hadnt got round too
In the front, I noticed the primroses are looking pretty
So, all in all a good mornings work...so time for a coffee and slice of cake
I did the baking yesterday afternoon, and filled the sponge with lemon curd, I havent had any for years, so it made a lovely change.
The rest of the afternoon I spent doing some knitting, with Bluey sitting on the arm of the chair beside me, he`s such a devoted little boy, whatever would I do without him...

Hope the foxgloves take, and the polyanthas are so pretty, especially with the seashell adornment... and of course that wedge of sponge caught my eye too! heh heh Very cosy x
Oh I love foxgloves - I hope your seeds take! Your sweet cat Bluey is adorable. My daughter has just adopted two ginger cats. Your sponge cake with lemon curd looks delicious - what a wonderful baker you are!!
