Lovely Totnes

We went to my favourite place today Totnes, its a lovely town with lots of old buildings, and interesting shops, first call as always was this lovely old fashioned tea room..
It has the most wonderful array of home-made cakes, and the fruit scones with lashings of butter (not ginger beer) are to die for.....
On Saturdays, they have a market which is always interesting, and has some lovely stalls
This is one of my favourites, its very `Country living` and had lots of wood, metal and fabric hearts featured today...
This shop has a lovely collection of Cath Kidson things...
And this is very English Country, if I won the lottery, I would buy the WHOLE of this...
Some of the buildings have very pretty and unusual features, I love this....
And I think this is a very pretty house..
If you take the steps off the high street, away from the bustle of the shops, you can catch a glimpse of secret places, where lovely old tin baths hang...
And lovely carved stone planters bear shrubs with leaves the colour of coral..
On the roof, in stony silence, a faithful hound keeps watch..
And at the end of this little path, is the Guildhall, a lovely ancient old building with great charm
And in complete contrast, this lovely novel cafe, in vibrant yellow, on the way back to the car, what a fabulous place!
These are some things I bought at the market, which has some `bric a brac` stalls, they cost the princely sum of one pound, and I was very pleased with them,
As I was with this nice basket, I needed something to keep my Country Living in, and it just fits the bill..

It looks like you had a lovely day out, and I would certainly have liked a poke round the market stalls, and a slab of something sugary, or creamy.. whatever, I´m not fussy! lol

I thought the pictures were lovely too, especially the solitary stone hound... glad you had such a nice day x

What a wonderful day out. Totnes looks beautiful - I'd love to look through the shops especially the "country living/Cath Kidson" ones :-) Your basket will be perfect for holding your CL magazines.
