Sunday 15 March 2009

On the way to work in the mornings, I pass this lovely Catholic church, its such a nice compact little church, with all its carved stonework and twiddly bits, and has a nice little bell tower

I love the sound of bells on a Sunday, but they werent ringing this morning as I walked past, because it was only seven o`clock!

There was a lovely splash of colour from the Forsythia in the garden opposite

And down on the sea-front, the Magnolia is breaking into flower, which looks lovely against the pink and grey rock
Down in Princess gardens, the smell from these Hyacinths in the morning sun was heavenly

And beside the Pavilion this dainty little shrub covered in white blossom.

Today has been the first really warm Spring like day we`ve had, I went for a walk in my lunch break, and didnt need either a coat or a fleece.
In the park lots of nice flowers
and in the middle of the green is a wonderful Oak with a fabulous shape

There were lots of people about enjoying the sunshine, and on the playing fields, a couple of noisey football matches...I walked past the little brook and on to Chelston
It was `Sunday quiet` in the village, as most of the shops were closed, and a lot of people were probably enjoying their sunday roast, I had a walk round St Matthews church, built in the lovely local red sandstone.
There were patches of the most enormous Celandines I`d ever seen strewn amongst the banks
and a nice little avenue of trees along the steps. It was a joy to see buds popping everywhere, on the trees and shrubs, and listen to the blackbirds singing in the hedgerows
I reluctantly walked back, noting this rather interesting holey tree, thinking it would make a nice des res for an Wol as they say in Winnie the Pooh....

What a lovely blog you have! I'm glad I stumbled upon it. It looks like spring has fully sprung over on the other side of the pond. I can't wait for it to start here.

OH your wonderful warm days - and lovely walks. I enjoyed this one - while it rains and blows outdoors.
